Tutoring Agreement

Effective Date: April 5, 2026

This Tutoring Agreement ("Agreement") sets out the terms governing the tutoring relationship facilitated by Bridge Point Scholars Limited ("the Company") between students (and their parents/guardians, where applicable) and tutors. By booking or accepting a session through our platform, all parties agree to these terms.

Part A: Student & Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

1. Session Preparation

  • Arrive on time for all scheduled sessions — in person at the agreed location or online via the provided Google Meet link
  • Provide session goals or notes at the time of booking so the tutor can prepare appropriately
  • Have necessary materials (textbooks, notebooks, homework assignments) ready before the session
  • For online sessions: ensure a stable internet connection, a quiet environment, and a working microphone and camera

2. Conduct

  • Treat tutors with respect and courtesy at all times
  • Engage actively in the learning process — ask questions, complete assigned practice work, and follow tutor guidance
  • Communicate any learning difficulties, concerns, or accessibility needs so the tutor can adapt their approach
  • For in-person sessions at the student's home: ensure a safe, well-lit, and appropriate learning environment. A parent or responsible adult should be present in the home during sessions for students under 18

3. Parental Involvement (Students Under 18)

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for managing the student's account, bookings, and payments
  • Parents/guardians may view session notes and tutor feedback in the dashboard
  • Parents/guardians should communicate academic goals and any special needs to the Company
  • A parent or responsible adult must be present in the home during in-person sessions for students under 18

4. Cancellations & Attendance

Students must adhere to our Cancellation Policy. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in a review of your account.

Part B: Tutor Responsibilities

5. Qualifications & Verification

  • Tutors must have verified qualifications for the subjects they teach
  • Tutors must submit and maintain up-to-date verification documents (government-issued ID, degree/certification, background check documentation)
  • Tutors must complete their profile (name, photo, bio, education, subjects, service area) before becoming visible to students
  • Tutors must notify the Company of any changes to their qualifications or circumstances that may affect their ability to tutor

6. Session Delivery

  • Arrive on time and prepared for all sessions
  • Review the student's session goals/notes before each session
  • Deliver high-quality, focused instruction tailored to the student's level and needs
  • For group sessions: ensure all students receive adequate attention and participate meaningfully
  • Complete session notes after each session (optional but strongly encouraged) to document what was covered, homework assigned, and progress observations
  • Mark session status appropriately (completed, no-show) in a timely manner

7. Availability & Scheduling

  • Submit weekly availability by Sunday of each week
  • Only modify availability for times 24+ hours in the future
  • Respond to student session requests promptly
  • Maintain a reliable schedule — repeated cancellations or no-shows will result in account review and potential suspension

8. Professional Conduct

  • Maintain a professional and supportive learning environment
  • Treat all students and parents/guardians with respect, patience, and cultural sensitivity
  • Do not arrange sessions with students outside the Bridge Point Scholars platform
  • Do not share personal contact information with students or parents/guardians for the purpose of conducting sessions off-platform
  • Report any safeguarding concerns to the Company immediately
  • Do not discriminate against any student based on race, gender, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic

Part C: Company Responsibilities

9. Platform & Matching

  • Provide a reliable platform for scheduling, payment, and communication
  • Match students with qualified tutors based on subject expertise, availability, location, and modality
  • Generate Google Meet links for online sessions upon booking confirmation
  • Send timely notifications and session reminders (24 hours and 2 hours before each session)

10. Quality Assurance

  • Screen and verify all tutors before they are approved on the platform
  • Moderate student reviews to maintain fairness and quality standards
  • Investigate complaints and take appropriate action (warnings, suspension, or removal) when standards are not met
  • Provide a dispute resolution process for payment and session disagreements

11. Compensation

  • Tutor compensation rates are set by the Company based on subject category tiers
  • Tutors are compensated regardless of group size — the per-session rate applies whether the session has 1 student or the maximum
  • Tutors are compensated for late-canceled sessions and no-shows
  • Payout processing is managed by the Company. Tutors are notified when payouts are completed

Part D: General Terms

12. Safety & Safeguarding

  • The safety of students — especially minors — is our highest priority
  • All tutors undergo verification including document checks. Background check procedures follow the mechanisms available in Saint Lucia
  • Any concerns about inappropriate behavior must be reported to the Company immediately at info@bridgepointscholars.com
  • The Company reserves the right to immediately suspend any user pending investigation of safety concerns

13. Academic Integrity

  • Tutors provide instruction, guidance, and practice — they do not complete homework, exams, or assignments on behalf of students
  • Students must do their own work. Tutoring is meant to build understanding and skills, not to provide answers
  • Any violations of academic integrity may result in account suspension

14. Confidentiality

  • Session notes and student performance information are confidential and visible only to the student/parent and the assigned tutor
  • Tutors must not share student information with any third party
  • The Company handles all personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Saint Lucia Data Protection Act, 2011

15. Limitation of Liability

Bridge Point Scholars Limited facilitates the tutoring relationship but does not guarantee specific academic results. Academic progress depends on many factors including the student's effort, attendance, and engagement outside of tutoring sessions. The Company is not liable for exam results or academic outcomes.

16. Amendments

The Company may update this Agreement from time to time. All users will be notified of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

17. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Saint Lucia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Saint Lucia.
